He asserted that the NPP do not know of any election, and insisted that the EC conclude the collation on the three polling stations that are still outstanding.

Speaking on Citi Eyewitness News, Haruna Mohammed stated, “Our representatives were at the meeting, and I have to put it on record that there was no such agreement with the EC.”

“That is very evident in the release of the EC itself—that the political parties did not agree. We don’t know what the EC is up to. The NPP is not going to give up on this particular fight”

“We don’t know of any elections. The EC must conclude the collation on the three polling stations—this is still outstanding, and that is clear for us.”

Meanwhile, the Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana has revealed that it will conduct a rerun of the Parliamentary Election in 19 polling stations in the Ablekuma North Constituency.

Samuel Tettey, Deputy Chairman of Operations at the EC, in a press release dated July 2, noted that the decision was reached following consultation between the NDC and the NPP on July 1, 2025.

The EC has decided to rerun the election in 19 of the 37 polling stations, citing that although the scanned results from these stations were approved by both party agents, they lacked verification by the Presiding Officers.

The rerun in Ablekuma North is scheduled for Friday, July 11, 2025.

The Ablekuma North Constituency has remained without a Member of Parliament since the December 7 general elections.

It will be recalled that the collation of Ablekuma North constituency results on January 8, 2025, at the electoral commission’s old office could not be concluded because three out of the 281 polling station results were outstanding.

The Electoral Commission was not able to collate the Ablekuma North constituency results again on January 17, 2025, because some party supporters invaded the premises and destroyed some properties.

The stalled declaration has now gone past six months.

The Minority caucus formally petitioned the Ghana Police Service on June 4 to provide security to enable the Electoral Commission to complete the re-collation process.

The Deputy Chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC), Dr Bossman Asare, has stated that the Attorney General’s pending advice is holding back on Ablekuma North collation.

According to Bossman Asare, the EC has taken several steps to complete the process, but has been stalled due to the absence of security support, which is dependent on legal clarification from the Attorney General.
