The Ghana Police have arrested Augustina Adoma, a 29-year-old unemployed woman, for allegedly stabbing her ex-boyfriend and setting her personal belongings ablaze.
According to reports, the incident happened following a confrontation at Race Course, Sowutuom, in Accra.
The victim has been identified as Emmanuel Otabil, 30-year-old and a driver.
In a statement signed by the Police Supt, Head of Public Affairs, Greater Accra Region, Ms. Juliana Obeng revealed, Augustina saw the victim with another woman and poured a bucket of water on them and took the victim’s Samsung mobile phone before leaving
“Later the same day at around 4:00 pm, the suspect reportedly returned to the victim’s residence in his absence. Using a duplicate key, she gained access to the kiosk and set fire to several items, including a mattress, carpet, blankets, and bedsheets.”
Later, when the victim confronted the suspect about the incident and demanded his phone, the suspect allegedly took a knife of an orange seller and stabbed the victim in the left side of his chest.
The victim underwent emergency surgery at the University of Ghana Medical Centre is is responding to treatment.
The suspect was arrested at Tesano Police Station when she attempted to submit a medical report in connection with a separate assault complaint against the victim.
