Over twenty men have allegedly defiled a 13-year-old girl from Madina, Accra.
Reports gathered suggest the girl, a pupil of Madina No. 3 School, was defiled by over 20 men, including teenagers.
According to reports, the gang defilement has left the 13-year-old girl.
The Human Rights Reporters Ghana (HRRG) and the Justice Revived Foundation (JRF) are demanding action following the incident.
HRRG statement revealed that the main suspect, Clement Kwame, a 45-year-old mason, persuaded the girl with misleading promises.
Clement Kwame is also accused of coordinating the attack with several accomplices.
The HRRG statement added that the girl was threatened to remain silent.
“HRRG and JRF urge stakeholders, government, civil society, and the public to step up efforts, enforce existing laws, and foster an environment where children can grow up without fear”, the HRRG statement added.
Meanwhile, the case is now at the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) in Madina.
Although some suspects have been arrested, Clement Kwame, the key suspect, is on the run.
Human Rights Reporters Ghana (HRRG) and the Justice Revived Foundation (JRF) are calling for the arrest of all suspects and also for the offenders to face the full extent of the law.
“We will not rest until justice is served,” said representatives of HRRG and JRF. “Every child has the right to safety, and perpetrators must be held accountable.”
