The Ghana Police Service have arrested some uniformed impostors in the ongoing Ablekuma North rerun.
Reports suggest the Police arrested several Individuals dressed in brown uniforms and posing as security personnel.
The uniformed impostors were spotted near the Awoshie DVLA polling station in the Ablekuma North Constituency.
The information gathered suggests the arrested imposters were unable to properly identify themselves when interrogated.
John Desmond Nii Sowah Nai, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ga West and Dean of MMDCEs in the Greater Accra Region, confirmed the arrest.
The individuals dressed in brown uniforms have been taken to the Odorkor Police Station for further investigation.
Additionally, Dr Omane Boamah, the Defence Minister, has stated that the military will not be deployed to the Ablekuma North constituency.
The Defence Minister emphasised that the Police are trained to handle electoral security.
In a post shared on social media, Dr Omane Boamah revealed, “To ensure a peaceful and democratic process, the Ghana Police Service will be fully in charge of security for today’s elections in Ablekuma North Constituency.
Let’s keep the peace and make our voices heard as John Dramani Mahama resets Ghana and creates more opportunities for Ghanaians”.
