Joe Wise, the Chairman of the Conference Planning Committee, has revealed the NPP’s National Delegates Conference will proceed as announced.
According to Joe Wise, the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) and National Council received a petition to postpone the conference, but dismissed the request.
Joe Wise emphasised that the National Delegates Conference, as scheduled on Saturday, July 19, 2025, would proceed despite calls for a postponement.
Speaking at a media briefing, Joe Wise stated, “There was a petition that the date for the conference should be changed. Our NEC, after considering it, decided that we should continue. Given the preparation and commitments that we have made, the conference will proceed as announced”.
The NPP will hold its National Annual Delegates Conference at the UG Sports Stadium from July 17 to 19, 2025.
Delegates are expected to deliberate on proposed amendments arising from the Prof. Mike Oquaye Committee report and a very old proposal from the 2019 Delegates Conference in Kumasi.
Meanwhile, former President Akufo-Addo has refuted claims he attempted to reverse the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) decision to hold early primaries or postpone the scheduled National Delegates Conference.
On Monday, July 14, the Office of the Former President dismissed the allegations as completely false.
