A Ghanaian borga who returned from the UK has said his life was far better in Ghana than in the UK.
The Ghanaian borga who returned from the UK for a two-week work leave revealed he was not going back, as life in Ghana is far better than what he experienced in the UK.
According to the Ghanaian borga, he was a contractor in Ghana and travelled to the UK in December 2023.
He revealed he was hoping to secure a well-paying job and improve his living conditions, spending £14,000 on a visa.
However, the Ghanaian borga says his expectations were quickly dashed.
He emphasised that the cost of living was so high that he couldn’t even save £200 a month.
The Ghanaian borgaadmitted that life and work were far better in Ghana and says he has no intention of returning to the UK once his leave expires.
Speaking on SVTV Africa, the UK borga detailed, “In 2023, I went to the UK. In December this year will be two years. The way we expected it was not how it is. In this same country, I spent £14,000 on the process and everything.
At the end of the month, I am not even able to save £200, it’s not like I am outrageous, I am on a low budget because you are definitely going to eat and because of the weather, you don’t really need clothes”.
He added, “If you sit down quietly and study the way things are going, we were better off when we were in Ghana. I have taken two weeks’ leave. I am not going back”.
Meanwhile, some Ghanaians have reacted to the video by saying, “If you bring a free plan to go stay in any part of Europe or America, I’ll reject instantly. Shitholes”.
“A friend in Canada was telling me the same thing last week”, another Ghanaian stated.
What work does he do that he can’t save £200 a month
One netizen wrote, “Me i always say if you leave a lavish life in Ghana and always spend unnecessarily, u cant make it abroad
Trust me on this”.
“Travelling is like reading different research articles. Each author looks at the same problem from a different perspective. If you have a job in Ghana that pays you well, why do you foolishly travel to look for the same opportunities? Imagine Despite working at KFC in the UK/USA”, another Ghanaian wrote.
“We keep telling people abroad is not easy, oh, for anyone. Even those who have gone there do no good jobs, bills, and other things will humble u to the maximum. Well, this is my opinion”, one more netizen added.
