According to reports by UTV, the demolishing work occurred on Monday, July 28, 2025, along the Spintex Road in Accra.

One of the workers at the warehouse, speaking to UTV, stated, “We were here when they came with excavators. We asked them to allow us to take out our items from the warehouse because this is where we sleep, but they said no, that it was too late. We told them again that this is where we sleep, but they started demolishing the place.

“The excavator broke down, so they left and came back later with another machine; two machines got spoiled.

Where were there in the evening around 8, and they came with two more machines, and they started to demolish the building. A worker wanted to video it, but a military man beat him up”, a man stated.

The security man for the warehouse added, “I am the security man here. We were around at about 6:28 P.M. when the soldiers arrived in two pickups. We had no idea they were here to demolish the building. We didn’t know they were coming to demolish the building. All we saw was that they brought excavators.

“We pleaded with them to allow us to take our belongings, even our beds, but they refused, saying it was too late. We later managed to sneak out our beds during the demolition.”

A third worker narrated, “They kept telling us to leave without offering any explanation. Two of the machines broke down, and they brought another one. We wanted to take out our things, but one of the soldiers said no, we couldn’t take anything”.

Meanwhile, in a related story, Journalist and Businessman Raymond Archer, some years ago, warned McDan continues to enjoy under the Akufo-Addo Bawumia government and should pray that the NPP stays in government forever.

Speaking on Radio Gold, Raymond Archer said, “Now they came for my business, Mcdan he has to pray, I don’t talk too much but he has to pray, that his government stays in office forever, now he has the Mcdan group when they came into office you know the first thing they did, the guy who was supposed to be a millionaire the finance minister had to take money from ADB to give him to do a contract at COCOBOD”.

“If everyone is given the opportunity, no one will sleep. Now, a whole lagoon natural resource was seized and given to him, and all the people who lived on that lagoon, about 4000 to 5000 livelihoods, have been taken and given to one man”, he added.

Raymond Archer added, “Not just that, he has McDan Aviation, he has another company in mining, and he has Electrochem, he is building his empire while trampling on other people, it is who they are, it is what they have always done”.

In 2020, officials of Ghana Trade Fair Company Limited pulled down a structure belonging to Raymond Archer following a redevelopment project to be undertaken at the Trade Fair Centre.
