Kwame Asare Obeng, commonly known as A Plus, has revealed that President Mahama wanted to help the late music icon Daddy Lumba.
A Plus revealed that John Mahama noticed Daddy Lumba was unwell during the 1st of July meeting with the senior citizen program.
Speaking to the media, A Plus stated, “On the 1st of July, when they had the senior citizen program, the president saw Daddy Lumba and felt he was not well. The president had plans, but you know, Daddy is very difficult to find”.
So, I contacted him twice. I think other people also spoke with him. And I think Lumba wanted to get ready before he meets the old man,” he added.
He added, “It was Lumba, who was holding back a bit for personal reasons. But I’m sure that after that effort, now that he has passed, the president will do everything.
When we are alive, people don’t really care, but this is a president who spoke to me on two occasions, that have you gotten Lumba. Now that he has passed, I am sure the presidency will do everything to ensure that we give him a befitting burial”.
In addition, some members took turns singing their favourite Daddy Lumba songs in tribute to the late music icon.
Both the NDC MPs and the NPP MPs took turns to sing some of Daddy Lumba’s hit songs in parliament on July 28, 2025.
Speaking on the floor of parliament, an NPP lawmaker stated, “If you are sad, just play Daddy Lumba music, and you will be fine. If you are quarrelling with your wife, just play Daddy Lumba music and you will be fine. Mr Speaker, even if you want to do galamsey play Daddy Lumba music and you will be encouraged.
The man is a legend. With your wife, you have a problem; just play Odo”, he added.
The member of parliament went on to sing some part of the song in Twi.
He added, “Mr Speaker, as for Daddy Lumba, if you are a young man and you want to make live listen to Daddy Lumba music”.
Meanwhile, Prophet Francis Amoako Atta, the founder of Parliament Chapel International, has opened up on his recent encounter with the late music icon Daddy Lumba.
According to Prophet Amoako Atta, when he met Daddy Lumba, he gave him 21 days to live on earth.
The man of God revealed that the late music icon could not walk when he came to his church.
Prophet Amoako Atta added that Daddy Lumba’s remaining days on earth were only by grace.
Speaking in an interview on July 28, 2025, Prophet Amoako Atta stated, “When Daddy came to me, he couldn’t walk. He was in a very bad state. I gave him 21 days”.
“Daddy has made such an impact that we need to celebrate him. When I met him, I immediately knew his remaining days on earth were only by grace”, Prophet Amoako Atta added.
The man of God added, “Since then, I knew it was by grace. The rest of his life was not about strength or medicine. It was grace”.
