A new poll by Global InfoAnalytics has revealed that President John Dramani Mahama maintains overwhelming public confidence in his economic management.
According to the Global InfoAnalytics survey, 74% of Ghanaians approve of Mahama’s handling of the economy.
Mahama’s job creation efforts also scored a 67% of respondents, with 22% disapproving. On the fight against galamsey, the government’s approach scored 65% with 24% not satisfied with the illegal mining fight.
The polls also revealed that the majority of Ghanaians support the GHC 1 increase in petroleum tax to deal with the country’s energy crisis.
The poll shows that 55% of voters support the suspended ‘Dumsor’ Levy, while 22% oppose it. 23% were neutral.
Also, on a scale of 1 to 10 President Mahama government earned the following,
5.8 for dealing with power outages (Dumsor)
5.6 for job creation
7.0 for stabilising the cedi
6.6 each for managing the economy and rolling out the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) task force
6.5 for stabilising the prices of goods and services
6.0 for stabilising utility prices and addressing illegal mining
