Secular musician-turned-pastor, Lord Kenya, has shared insight into death following the passing of Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba.
According to Lord Kenya, when one sleeps, that person dies because we don’t know when we sleep and when we wake up.
He revealed that when one dies, the soul leaves the body, and that person will see all their properties but cannot do anything about it.
Speaking during a sermon shared on Facebook, reacting to the death of Ghana’s music icon Daddy Lumba, Lord Kenya stated, “Someone told me, man of God, won’t you look at your phone? When I looked at my phone, the news circulating was that Daddy Lumba had gone to sleep and did not wake up. We have a lot of songs our brother sang, and we also have a lot of songs we have sung.
Listen, when someone dies, it is over. Solomon in the Bible stated that those alive know they are going to die. Do you know that you are going to die? The live you are leaving, do you know you can sleep and never wake up?”
He added, “I am not sure Nana even thought about that; if he knew, he would not have slept. When we say death, what is death? When you sleep, you are dead because you do not know when u sleep and you don’t know when you wake up. That is how death is: when your soul leaves, you are dead. Your body is from dust, and dust you will return.
That is how Daddy Lumba left. His soul has left his body; one will die, leaving their chains, all their clothes, their big properties, but the person cannot do anything”.
Daddy Lumba passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2025, after a short illness.
In a statement announcing, the family called for privacy as they grieve.
