Hawa Koomson, the former member of parliament for Awutu Senya East, has fired shots at Vice President Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang and President John Dramani Mahama.
According to Hawa Koomson, John Dramani Mahama and Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang have not even called to speak to her.
She expressed her surprise at the vice president, who is a woman and has not even reached out to her.
Speaking on Asempa FM on July 16, 2025, Hawa Koomson stated, “As we speak, not even one of them has called me (President John Dramani Mahama and Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang).
I am very surprised that Vice President Naana Jane, as a woman…today, we say we have a sitting female Vice President, she has not even called to check on me. I expected better”.
She, however, revealed that the Minister for the Interior, Mubarak Mohammed Muntaka, called her.
“He called and told me that they are taking the matter seriously. He said he has instructed the regional police commander to investigate thoroughly and bring those behind the attack to book,” she revealed.
In addition, Hawa Koomson, in a separate interview, accused the husband of the incumbent MP for Awutu Senya East, Phillis Naa Koryoo, of being part of her attackers.
Hawa Koomson is quoted by UTV to have stated, “Those involved in the attack included the husband of the incumbent MP for Awutu Senya East, Phillis Naa Koryoo, and his boys”.
She further claimed that she is a threat to the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), so wherever she goes, she carries something to protect herself in the form of self-defence.
