Nana Akua Owusu Afriyieh, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) parliamentary candidate in Ablekuma North, has stated that God will let justice prevail in the Ablekuma North rerun.
Nana Akua Afriyie defied the NPP’s executive directive not to contest for the Ablekuma North rerun.
She, however, maintained she won the Ablekuma North parliamentary elections, beating the NDC’s candidate.
Speaking to the media, Nana Akua Owusu Afriyieh stated, “God will let justice prevail. I won this election, but they say they will re-run. The grounds are very wonderful.”
According to reports, NPP’s Nana Akua Owusu Afriyieh has garnered 32,512, and the NDC’s Ewurabena Aubynn has also garnered 32,464.
Some 6,839 voters are expected across the 19 polling stations to decide who will finally win the Ablekuma North parliamentary seat.
Nana Akua Owusu Afriyieh has received massive support from Dr Mahamaudu Bawumia, Bryan Acheampong and Yaw Adutwum.
Dr Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia, the former Vice President and 2024 flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party donated GHS 410,000 to the NPP’s Ablekuma North candidate.
According to reports, Dr Bawumia made the donation at his North Ridge office yesterday ahead of the rerun.
Dr Bawumia later joined the NPP parliamentary candidate for Ablekuma North, Nana Akua Afriyie, to campaign.
Bryan Acheampong, a New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful, has also donated GHs200,000 to Akua Afriyie, $6,500 to coordinators and polling station chairpersons in Ablekuma North to support the rerun.
The Member of Parliament for Abetifi and former Minister for Food and Agriculture’s donation comes amid the NPP’s public declaration that they have boycotted the Ablekuma North rerun.
Joy news in a post on X stated, “Bryan Acheampong donates GHs200,000 to Akua Afriyie, $6,500 to coordinators and polling station chairpersons in Ablekuma North to support rerun”.
Also, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, another NPP Flagbearer hopeful, donated Ghc 200,000 to support Nana Akua Owusu Afriyie for the re-run of the 19 polling stations.
