Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye, the Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has claimed he was denied a first class for speaking to a guy’s lady at the University.
Abronye revealed that a guy denied him his First-Class honours at the University of Ghana.
Speaking in an interview on Okay FM, Abronye bragged about his academic qualifications, stating, “I had a Second-Class Upper in law. My master’s at Legon, my worst grade was B-. You can check the records at Legon. My master’s in petroleum at Coventry; my poorest grade was C+.”
He added, “Even with law, I could have had a First Class, but there was this guy – I won’t mention his name – who said I spoke to his girlfriend, that’s why the thing (GPA) reduced. Otherwise, I would have had a First Class.”
Also, in that same interview, Abronye announced his plans to contest in the party’s 2028 general elections.
According to Abronye DC, he is qualified to contest for the position as he holds a Second-Class Upper in Law from the University of Ghana.
Abronye DC announced, “Do you know that I will be contesting the flagbearership position of the NPP? I will contest, so I am also a potential aspirant.
I am more qualified than most of the people who have shown interest. If it is about certificates, I have a lot. And this is not about those ones that GTEC will question me about.
I had a Second-Class Upper in Law from the University of Ghana, Legon,” he added.
The NPP primaries are heating up with the main front runners for the NPP’s flagbearer position, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, former Assin Central MP Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, former Minister for Agriculture Bryan Acheampong, and former Minister for Education Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum.
Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, a former General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), is expected to enter the NPP’s flagbearership race, and now Abronye has also hinted at his desire to enter the race.
However, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the former vice president and presidential candidate for the NPP in the 2024 election, is the preferred candidate for the majority of the NPP supporters.
