Sammy Gyamfi, the CEO of Goldbod, has refuted claims by Valentina Nana Agyeiwaa, popularly known as Afia Schwarzenegger, a Ghanaian socialite, that he has a girlfriend at the University of Ghana campus.
Sammy Gyamfi sued Afia Schwarzenegger, demanding ten million Ghana cedis (GH¢10 million) for defamatory claims against him.
The lawsuit stems from Afia Schwarzenegger accusing Sammy Gyamfi of infidelity.
She also accused Sammy Gyamfi of engaging in affairs and purchasing vehicles for female students at the University of Ghana.
Afia Schwarzenegger in the viral TikTok video claimed, “Tell Sammy Gyamfi’s wife that I am greeting her. Her husband is still buying cars for girls in Legon… Even his wife’s younger sister has bought a house in the US”.
According to the suit, filed on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, Gyamfi stated, “I have no girlfriend(s) at the University of Ghana and have not at any time purchased vehicles for any so-called girlfriends as claimed by Defendant.”
“I have no girlfriend(s) at the University of Ghana and have not at any time purchased vehicles for any so-called girlfriends as claimed by Defendant.” The suit read in part.
Sammy Gyamfi also denied buying any property in the United States for his wife or a supposed sister-in-law.
He stated that his wife does not even have a sister named “Vida,” as claimed by Afia Schwarzenegger.
The Goldbod CEO is requesting a restraining order on Schwarzenegger to prevent her from making further statements against him.
Also, a public apology is to be published on her social media handles.
“General Damages against the Defendant herein for defamation of character.
An order of this Honourable Court in the nature of a perpetual injunction restraining the Defendant herein from making any further publication and/or causing to be printed, published, distributed, and/or otherwise circulated same and/or other similar defamatory words touching and/or otherwise concerning the Plaintiff herein.
Exemplary damages of Ten Million Ghana Cedis (GHS 10,000,000.00) against the Defendant.
A retraction and an unqualified apology by the Defendants to be published on the front and back pages of The Daily Graphic Newspaper on three (3) consecutive occasions and same to be published on the TikTok mobile application platform in addition to any and all other media platforms that the impugned publication was made by the Defendant and give it the same prominence as the statements complained of,” parts of the suit read”.
Meanwhile, Afia Schwarzenegger has reacted to Sammy Gyamfi’s lawsuit against her.
Afia Schwarzenegger, in a viral video, boldly stated she does not have a pesewa in Ghana for Sammy Gyamfi to take in his GH¢10m defamation suit.
She asserted that her case will end up like that of Kevin Taylor, who insulted the Otumfour, Chief Imam, yet he walks free.
Speaking in a viral video, Afia Schwarzenegger stated, “Have you seen how Kevin Taylor’s case went? That is the same way our case would go. Kevin Taylor has insulted Otumfour, Chief Imam, yet he walks free”.
“Sammy Gyamfi, go to hell. Go and receive a defunct judgment. You have won the case. Moreover, I don’t have a pesewa in Ghana for you to take if you win the case. I don’t have any property in Ghana”, she added.
