The grandmother of Immigration Officer Stephen King Amoah has called for suspect Bright Aweh Roberts to face the same fate as her grandson in the name of justice.

According to the grandmother, the government must ensure the suspect is executed.

She further remarked that if this had happened during the era of former President Jerry John Rawlings, the suspect would not even have been given a trial in court.

She claimed that Bright Aweh Roberts has already admitted to killing her grandson.

Speaking to the media, the grandmother cried out, “Whatever this suspect did to my grandson, I would be at peace if the same were done to him. The entire family would find comfort in that,” she said, expressing the deep grief and anger felt by the family.

He has already admitted to killing my grandson. Now that he is arrested, what needs to happen? He should face the same fate. The government must ensure he is executed as well, so we can mourn my grandson in peace”, she added.

Nonetheless, Suspect Bright Aweh Roberts made his second appearance at the Kwabenya Circuit Court today.

The case, which was initially treated as a kidnapping, has now been reclassified as murder, leading to its transfer to a higher court for prosecution.

Suspect Bright Aweh Roberts was taken back into custody amidst chants from visibly irate family and loved ones of the deceased person.

The burnt body of Stephen King Amoah, a Ghana Immigration Service officer, who was reported missing under mysterious circumstances since Thursday, July 3, 2025, was found at Abuom Junction near Kwabenya in the Greater Accra region.

According to reports, the family complained to the Taifa Police on July 4, 2025, after several attempts to reach him.

Amoah left home that evening, Thursday, July 3, after receiving a call from a friend who allegedly owed him GHS200,000.

His brother, Akwasi Amoako, has confirmed that Nana Kofi’s body has been found dead.

According to reports, his neck was slashed, his body was burned, and he was then wrapped in a woollen carpet.

His body has since been deposited at the Police Hospital Mortuary after being identified by his relatives.

Meanwhile, the family of Stephen King Amoah is demanding justice.

According to the family, all they demand now is justice for their deceased relative.
