Anokye Frimpong, a private legal practitioner and historian, has tackled suspended Chief Justice Gertrude Araba Sackey Torkornoo after dragging Ghana to the ECOWAS court.
The historian quizzed CJ Torkornoo to ask herself whether she has seen $1million before, and she wants Ghana to pay you $10million.
According to the Historian, CJ Torkornoo is trying to collapse the Ghanaian economy with her $10million demand at the ECOWAS court.
It will be recalled, Justice Srem-Sai, the Deputy Attorney General, revealed that the suspended Chief Justice of Ghana filed another case at the ECOWAS court.
According to the details of the lawsuit, suspended Justice Torkornoo is seeking ten reliefs from the ECOWAS Court, including a $10 million compensation for moral and reputational damages suffered by the Applicant as a result of her illegal suspension and unfair investigation.
Speaking to GBC on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, Anokye Frimpong stated, “What about your status? What are you looking for? $10 million? If it is possible to get that money, it means you are collapsing the economy of Ghana.
Ask yourself whether you have seen $1million before and you want your country to pay you that money. It means you do not have any respect for the economy of the country,” he said.
He added, “We have certain personalities like Cardinal Appiah Turkson, Archbishop Palmer-Buckle, Duncan-Williams, the Asantehene, National Chief Imam and certain individuals that you can nicodemously talk to and they can work things out for you easily without the embarrassment of going to ECOWAS.”
“When you get there, you are embarrassing the country to the extent that you are telling the whole world that Ghana’s judicial system is not enough to deal with human rights and other matters, and therefore, we are supposed to resort to that place.
“It’s an embarrassment to the nation and an embarrassment to yourself because you know the law, and when the judicial process in your country has not been completely exhausted, you are not supposed to go out,” he concluded.
