Dr Kwaku Oteng’s Kumasi-based radio station, Pure FM, was tragically gutted by fire yesterday evening, July 23, 2025.
The information gathered suggests, the fire caused extensive damage to the facility.
Reports further indicate that the incident happened during a live programming.
All equioment’s according to reports, has been lost, and some parts of the Pure FM building have been burnt.
It has been revealed that no casualties were recorded as a result of the fire outbreak.
Kwame Adinkrah, the morning show host of Pure FM on social media, wrote, “I’m completely exhausted. We’ve just spent over three intense hours battling the fire that broke out at Pure FM studios.
Thankfully, we managed to save the building, but we lost all our studio equipment. We’ll be off air temporarily, but we shall rise again!”.
Meanwhile, the exact cause of the fire is yet to be identified, as investigations are currently underway.
Some Ghanaians have reacted to the tragic news by saying, “Sorry for the loss. I hope they insured the building against fire, if they did surely they’re gonna be indemnified if not, this should be a reason to buy fire insurance policy cause you never know when the worst case scenario will happen”.
Another stated, “I was listening to them last night and it went off for like 5 minutes and I moved onto another station so this is what happened, OMG, this is very sad”.
“Today you have something, the next minute it’s all gone. Employee’s job is all gone”, one more X user wrote.
