David Asante, the former Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Publishing Company, has declared his support for Dr Bryan Acheampong in the NPP’s flagbearer race.
According to David Asante, the NPP lost in the 2024 election due to an outright rejection overall.
He noted the NPP lost miserably at the polling stations, constituencies, regional levels, Parliament, and the Presidency.
In a Facebook post, David Asante wrote, “Reflecting on the NPP’s performance in the last election, Asante wrote, “We lost at the polling stations, we lost at the constituencies, we lost at regional levels, we lost Parliament, we lost the Presidency miserably, it was an outright rejection overall.”
“Who leads our Party will determine our pathway in 2028 and beyond!. May I introduce to you Dr Bryan Acheampong…”, he wrote.
Meanwhile, the Member of Parliament for Abetifi and former Minister for Food and Agriculture, Dr Bryan Acheampong, has now officially announced his intention to contest the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer position.
According to Bryan Acheampong, he will contest when the NPP officially opens nominations.
The leadership of the Presbyterian Church offered prayers for Bryan Acheampong, a New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful.
In the viral video, Bryan Acheampong was on his knees surrounded by some clergy members as they offered prayers for him.
Shortly after the prayers, he officially declared his intention.
He revealed that his decision is influenced by an exploratory team he set up, which spent a month assessing the sentiments of NPP delegates.
Speaking to the media, on Tuesday, June 24, Dr. Acheampong stated, “…A decision has been made that I will contest when the party opens nominations, but to do that, as a product of the church, it will be a disappointment per my tradition, if the moderator of the church hears it for the first time on the radio.
“So, before the formal announcement is made, I thought it wise to inform the general council and the moderator of the presby church. Most importantly, I am here to also seek the blessings of God.”
