Daddy Lumba’s book of condolence opened

The late Charles Kwadwo Fosu, known popularly as Daddy Lumba family has revealed that a book of condolence has been opened in memory of the late highlife legend.

The book of condolence will be opened today, Monday, July 28, at his residence and radio station in Accra.

Daddy Lumba passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2025, after a short illness.

In a statement announcing, the family called for privacy as they grieve.

Philip Appiah-Kubi, also known as Roman Fada, in an interview review stated, “The book of condolence will be opened Monday at his radio station, DL 106.9 FM, and at his residence here in Accra. We are inviting the public to come. We all love our Daddy Lumba, and we are deeply hurt, but God knows best”.

Also, in a statement issued by Baba Jamal and Associates announced the opening of the book of condolence was announced.

Colleagues, friends and fans are to pay a visit to his home at Kinshasha Crescent, House No. 12 (GA‑332‑9264), East Legon, to sign the book of condolence.

Meanwhile, the Creative Arts Agency (CAA) has announced a national candlelight vigil in honour of the late music legend.

A national candlelight vigil will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Independence Square in Accra, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

According to reports, the candlelight vigil will be a global tribute to Daddy Lumba.

Similar ceremonies are expected to be held across the globe in Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States, and the Netherlands.

A statement by the Creative Arts Agency (CAA) read, “On behalf of the Creative Arts Agency, we warmly invite you to attend a National Candlelight Vigil in memory of the late Daddy Lumba, Ghana’s Highlife music legend”.

The fans of the late Daddy Lumba are encouraged to confirm attendance by July 31, 2025.

In related news, the Presidency assures a befitting burial for late highlife legend Daddy Lumba.

Roman Fada stated, “We have received positive feedback from the Presidency, and I believe President John Dramani Mahama will respond favourably to the public’s call for a befitting burial”.
