A reporter with the ATV has gone unconscious following the personnel of the Ghana Police Service spraying pepper spray on the crowd.
In the viral video, the female reporter was captured with water being poured on her.
The reporter was helped into a vehicle for further treatment.
Chaos erupted at the Ablekuma North parliamentary rerun on Friday, July 11.
According to reports, a group of unidentified men stormed St. Peter’s Methodist church polling centre, disrupting the process and creating chaos.
The machomen stormed the polling station in a coordinated manner, causing panic among voters and electoral officials.
The information gathered suggests that the New Patriotic Party’s candidate, Nana Akua Afriyie, was assaulted.
Reports also suggest the former MP for Awutu Senya East Constituency, Hawa Koomson, has allegedly been assaulted.
According to reports, Hawa Koomson was kicked in the groin and fell to the ground with the thugs kicking her on the ground until the police intervened.
Also, a JoyNews journalist was assaulted.
Despite the number of police officers at the scene, they were unable to prevent the chaos.
