According to the Prison Service, Agradaa is in custody and has not been assaulted by inmates in prison.

The Ghana Prison Service asserted that Agradaa started her 15-year jail term on Saturday, July 5, 2025.

Speaking on Adom TV on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, Superintendent Adamu Latif revealed, “We are aware that Agradaa has been sentenced, and I have seen a viral video that suggests she is not in prison. It is not true. I want to state emphatically that she is in prison.

She started her prison sentence on Saturday, July 5, 2025. Friday was a holiday, so there was no way she could have been brought to the prison earlier,” Superintendent Latif clarified.

He added, “All videos circulating on social media suggesting that she has been assaulted by some inmates are not true. Prison is a place where the rights of inmates are protected. No inmate has the right to hit another”.

“She is currently at Nsawam Prisons, we will continue to assess the situation to determine whether she will remain there, based on our findings”, he added.

Agradaa was sentenced by Her Honour Evelyn Asamoah of the Circuit Court to 15 years in prison.

She was sentenced for two counts of defrauding by false pretences. Agradaa was also fined GH¢300 for one count of charlatanic advertisement, with a 30-day custodial sentence in default of payment.

Reports suggest the charges stem from a televised advertisement she aired in 2022.

In the ad, Agradaa claimed she possessed the power to double the money for her congregants at the Godsway International Heaven Church, misleading them into surrendering their money during an all-night church service at her Weija-based ministry in Accra.

Nana Agradaa was earlier taken to the hospital for a pregnancy test before the Judge sentences her.

She has since been sentenced to jail for 15 years with hard labour.

The Judge, Evelyn Asamoah, stated that Agradaa skilfully executed the offences and did not show remorse.
