Angel Asiamah, the husband of Evangelist Patricia Aseidua, commonly known as Agradaa, has stated that his wife’s sentence is part of the mission.
Angel Asiamah took over the pulpit to preach to the congregants of the Heavenway Champion International Ministry.
He reassures them that their matriarch’s incarceration is part of God’s will.
According to him, Agradaa has been sent to Nsawam Prison to share God’s message.
Speaking to the congregation of Heavenway Champion International Ministry. Angel Asiamah stated, “If God sent you to go and share his word in Nsawam, are you going to call the place with a telephone? You will have to go there”.
Humans are saying they have jailed our Agradaa for 15 years, but in God’s eyes, it is not like that; fifteen years is just seconds in the eyes of God. She is taking a message there, after this message, God will take our mother there and he will elevate her”.
His comments come following Agradaa’s sentencing by Her Honour Evelyn Asamoah of the Circuit Court, 10 to 15 years in prison.
She was sentenced for two counts of defrauding by false pretences. Agradaa was also fined GH¢300 for one count of charlatanic advertisement, with a 30-day custodial sentence in default of payment.
Reports suggest the charges stem from a televised advertisement she aired in 2022.
In the ad, Agradaa claimed she possessed the power to double the money for her congregants at the Godsway International Heaven Church, misleading them into surrendering their money during an all-night church service at her Weija-based ministry in Accra.
Nana Agradaa was earlier taken to the hospital for a pregnancy test before the Judge sentences her.
She has since been sentenced to jail for 15 years with hard labour.
The Judge, Evelyn Asamoah, stated that Agradaa skilfully executed the offences and did not show remorse.
Meanwhile, Richard Asare Baffour, the lawyer for a former Agradaa, has stated that they will challenge the 15-year jail sentence handed to his client.
According to Richard Asare Baffour, the legal team would file an appeal at the earliest opportunity, which is on Monday.
Also, Bukom Banku, a Ghanaian retired boxer, has wept, begging President John Dramani Mahama to look into the case of former traditional priestess turned evangelist, Evangelist Patricia Asiedua, commonly known as Agradaa.
According to Bukom Banku, he is deeply pained by Nana Agradaa’s 15-year prison sentence and appeals for President Mahama’s intervention.
Speaking in a viral video, Bukom Banku stated, “President John Mahama, you are the father of the nation. Please, even if Nana Agradaa has sinned against you, forgive her and look into her case”.
