Martin Kpebu, a private legal practitioner has charged Ghanaian youths to take over Ghana’s political leadership.
Martin Kpebu emphasised it was long overdue for the youth to take over from the old men.
According to Kpebu, Ghana as a country has seen enough of old men as leaders.
The private lawyer aimed the NPP’s proposed flagbearer election timeline for early 2026, arguing that it smacks of top-down manipulation.
Speaking on TV3 on Saturday Martin Kpebu detailed, “When you look at the way the party is pushing Bawumia forward, it signals that they want the grassroots to just play along. It’s a calculated attempt to preserve the system that benefits the elite”.
Martin Kpebu further asserted that the NPP fielding Dr Mahamudu Bawumia again in 2028 hand would the National Democratic Congress (NDC) an easy win.
He emphasised Dr Bawumia will be 69-year-old president in 2032 and the Gen Z and Gen Alpha voters are not going to rally behind that.
“Who wants a 69-year-old president in 2032? The Gen Z and Gen Alpha voters are not going to rally behind that,” he asserted.
He further claimed the NPP fielding Dr Bawumia in the 2028 election will be a walk in the park for the NDC, “It would be a walk in the park for the NDC”, he boldly stated.

“Some of us are of the unshaken belief that the difficulties we faced as a government over the last four years — the post-COVID era, economies around the world in turmoil, the global shocks and all — Dr. Bawumia did a good job.”
Awuku added, “He stood in the gap for the NPP, and I believe in his personal achievement and records, his character, and the strength of his character, and the integrity that he also has”.
