A senior lecturer at the University of Ghana’s Political Science Department, Dr. Joshua Jebuntie Zaato has boldly told Prof Ransford Gyampo, the Chief Executive Officer for the Shippers Authority of betraying UTAG.
Dr Zaato accused Professor Gyampo of betraying UTAG when he was serving as the President of the University Teachers Association of Ghana, UTAG.
Speaking on TV3 Key Point Prof Gyampo stated, “Our group (UTAG) was made up of sensible people, including himself (Dr Zaato) whatever decision I implemented was taken by the group, including himself.
So it is childish and loose talk for you to come and sit here and say that. You are a member of UTAG you voted for an issue and I implemented it and then you tell me I am the one who did it”, he added.
However, an infuriated Dr Zaato interjected Prof Gyampo saying, “You betrayed UTAG, you betrayed UTAG that is a betrayal, today people are contesting for the UTAG position and they say I won’t do a Gyampo.
There are people on campus saying please I won’t do a Gyampo because they don’t want to be like that. If you respond I will also respond unless they sack me from here.
I won’t sit here and let you call me childish, I won’t accept that, I won’t take that from you”, he added.
It will be recalled Professor Gyampo after he was appointed as acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO)of Ghana Shippers Authority boldly stated one is a nation wrecker if he refuses to serve the nation.
According to Professor Gyampo, it is unpatriotic to refuse the opportunity to serve the nation.
Meanwhile, the Director of Communication for the 2024 Bawumia Campaign Team, Dennis Miracles Aboagye, claims Professor Ransford Gyampo has played both the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
According to him, Professor Ransford Gyampo all this while has been interested in championing his own agenda, rather than supposedly championing the cause of Ghanaians.
He accused Prof Gyampo of now being aligned with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and serving its interests.
“I wasn’t surprised, and those of us in NPP weren’t surprised. I knew he was actively lobbying for the position. Some Professors who openly campaigned and shared fliers in traffic are now crying because they feel neglected, but the so-called neutrals are now being appointed,” he stated.
