Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum the Former Minister of Education has officially declared his intention to contest for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearership for the 2028 election.

Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum had earlier teased his intent to contest the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer position ahead of the 2028 general elections.

In a post on social media page X, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum stated, “In the silence of the noise, one man’s record speaks louder than mere campaign chants.

n the post he touted his achievements and outlined his vision for national transformation, positioning himself as the party’s best chance for electoral victory.

Adutwum’s post has since been deleted, the post, on Dr Adutwum’s official X page on Thursday night, featured a stylised image with the bold inscription: “The Adutwum Factor: The NPP’s surest bet for victory 2028.” And was accompanied by a poetic caption.

Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum in a video yesterday 18 June officially declared his intention by saying, “Eight years ago, I served as Deputy Minister and later as Minister for Education. During that period and beyond, I received countless praises from Ghanaians who appreciated the strides we made in the education sector”

“While in California, I had the opportunity to open schools and was recently honoured for my service. It was then that President Akufo-Addo invited me to come back home and contribute to the national agenda,” he added.

He delcared, “As the party opens nominations for the flagbearership, I wish to announce that I will contest”

“I know you have faith in me, and I will not disappoint you. All is not lost; the future of Ghana is in our hands,” he said.

Meanwhile, Justin Frimpong Koduah, the General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has revealed that the party will hold its presidential primaries on January 31, 2026.

According to Justin Frimpong Koduah, the National Council adopted a proposal from the constitution review committee.
