President John Dramani Mahama has jokingly stated he might have to relocate to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
John Mahama applauded the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration for its impressive new office complex.
According to John Mahama, the new office complex is a well-appointed government facility in the country.
He further suggested that the facility’s architectural quality and interior finishing might be superior to the seat of government the Jubilee House.
In 2015, a fire incident left the original structure in ruins leading to the construction of the new Foreign Affairs Ministry located in Accra and was completed in 2023.
The new Foreign Affairs Ministry facility includes state-of-the-art meeting rooms, elevated security setups, and improved office spaces designed to meet the advancing needs of 21st-century international relations.
Speaking during his first official visit to the Ministry since its reconstruction, and addressing attendees at the Ghana European Union Partnership Dialogue in Accra, John Mahama stated, “This is my first visit to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since it was built, and I must say I am quite impressed with the facility you have here”.
“This is a better-appointed structure than the Flagstaff House, we might have to switch,” he added leading to the dignitaries laughing.
John Mahama further recounted, “I remember when your building got burnt, we hosted you for a while at the Flagstaff House”.
“So you must be kind enough to return the favour someday,” he quipped.
