They reportedly forced entry and ransacked the premises. The act drew the attention of nearby civilians, who confronted the soldiers, leading to heightened tensions.

The situation escalated, with civilians reportedly detaining the military personnel and calling in the police to handle the matter.

Some Ghanaians have reacted to the video saying. “So now soldiers break into shops like armed robbers all because of a missing phone? What kind of lawless madness is this? And civilians had to detain them? Embarrassing! Ghana’s military turning into street thugs no respect for rule of law. Absolute disgrace”.

“That is why people are calling for the interior minister to bring this military to order. Now the little then you will see the security all over the place”, another stated.

One netizen wrote, “How you can just break into someone’s shop like that, that’s pure theivery. some of the military men just abuse the little power they got forgetting they are also civilians, only in uniforms”.

“How can u break into someone’s shop without authorisation,  some of these young soldiers mishave anyhow. As there are the law”, another X user stated.

“These young ones keep spoiling the name of the noble profession. Should their faces be seen and identities known, they surely will be dealt with. The military isn’t a lawless establishment”, a netizen noted.

Additionally, another Ghanaian wrote, “This unprofessional attitude is so common among most military personnel. They don’t apply anything like common sense or the laws of Ghana in their dealings! All they know is using force against civilians. How can u just break into someone’s shop like that ??”
