The Ghana Hajj Board has revealed seven Ghanaian Pilgrims who participated in the 2025 Hajj in Saudi Arabia have died.
The deceased are made up of two men and five women.
According to reports, the Hajj board has informed the affected families in Ghana.
The Hajj Board Chairman Alhaji Collins Dauda speaking on TV3 stated, “Unfortunately, for the 2025 pilgrimage, we have lost seven of our compatriots. Deaths are painful, but death will come when it has to come.
We express our deepest condolences to the families back in Ghana who have been affected in this case,” he said.
The deceased persons according to the Hajj Board, have been buried in Saudi Arabia in line with Islamic tradition and practices.
Over 6000 Ghanaian pilgrims traveled to Mecca in 2025 to join two million Muslims from across the world.
Last year 17 Ghanaian pilgrims died during Hajj compared to seven this year.
The Hajj Board Chairman noted that the decline in death is due to enhanced health and safety measures implemented in partnership with Saudi authorities.
