One person has reportedly died and several others have been injured in a fatal crash on the Accra-Kumasi highway.
According to reports, the tragic incident happened yesterday, June 29, 2025.
The crash was between a VIP bus and a Toyota Venza on the Accra-Kumasi highway.
Some Ghanaians have reacted to the sad news, saying, “Too much disregard for safety lately by VIP buses. I doubt it’s a mere coincidence that VIP buses are involved nearly every time an accident is mentioned on that route of late”.
“Could have used the Kumasi international money to dualise the Accra-Kumasi Highway. But because of votes, they used it on a white elephant. More Ghanaians use that highway than the so-called int Airport. Someone just lost his/her life in something which could have been avoided. So sad”, another stated.
“VIP drivers don’t drive well at all.. stupid overtaking nkoa”, one more added.
Another netizen added, “The most careless drivers on our road are the VIP drivers. U barely see an STC bus in such situations”.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday, June 25, Several lives have been lost following a tragic head-on collision between a VIP bus and a cargo truck on the Accra-Kumasi highway.
Reports suggest the tragic accident occurred on Wednesday, June 25, near Oframase, close to Nkawkaw in the Kwahu West Municipality.
The information gathered suggests a VIP bus with registration number GR-2399 collided with an oncoming cargo truck loaded with flour, leading to several fatalities and some bodies beyond identification.
