Nana B noted that the Attorney General’s media briefings are unfair to the ex-appointees cited in various offences.

Speaking on OKAY FM,  Henry Nana Boakye argued, “This is unfair to the former appointees cited for various offences. Why is he doing this? He is an experienced lawyer. He is my senior by many years and a lecturer. So, I expect him to know better,” he indicated.

He argued that the actions of the Attorney General’s Department give room for public trials even before the person has the chance to defend themselves before a court of competent jurisdiction.

“He knows that a person is innocent until proven guilty by the precepts of the law. Ideally, he must refer these cases directly to the court instead of the ongoing media trial,” he added.

Meanwhile, Dr Dominic Ayine has defended his press briefings on Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL).

He asserted that there is nothing absolutely wrong with his media briefings.

According to Dr Dominic Ayine, what he is doing is simply accounting to the people of Ghana who are demanding accountability in the cases against former government appointees.

Speaking at a press conference in Accra on June 13, 2025, Dr Ayine stated, “There is nothing absolutely wrong with the briefings. We have a duty to account to the people of this country. It is not in order to make any political party look bad. What we are doing is simply to account to the people”.

Dr Ayine added“Even the AG of the US, brief the press when they conclude their investigations”.

Dr. Dominic Ayine, further revealed that NSS ghost names suspect siphoned a whopping GHC548 million.

According to Dr Dominic Ayine, a full docket on investigations into the National Service scandal is ready and has been presented to his office.

He revealed that the former National Service Authority (NSA) under the former government ran a criminal enterprise which siphoned huge sums of public funds including over GHC548 million.

The AG revealed that twelve suspects will be charged in the National Service scandal.

According to the Attorney General, former Executive Director of the National Service Scheme, Mustapha Ussif, former Executive Director of the National Service Authority (NSA) Osei Assibey Antwi and former Deputy Director in charge of Finance and Administration, Gifty Oware-Mensah.

Dr Ayine added, “I am here today to announce that I have received a full docket compiled by diligent and hardworking investigators at the BNI”.

“NIB officials and AG’s Office have worked to develop docket after investigation into the NSS scandal… We can confirm that over GHC 548 million [was] lost due to the criminal enterprise at NSS. Ghana lost over GHC 548 million through criminal enterprise operating at the National Service Authority.”

“In total we can confirm from our evidence in the docket and from the investigations that a whooping GHC5,48, 333, 542. 64.

“It was discovered that around 81, 885 were ghost names. Our investigations have revealed a criminal enterprise whose network covers the entire country. It was discovered that top officials and their accomplices in the private sector were involved,” he noted.
