The Ghana Police Service has arrested suspect Christopher Saigoe for the unlawful possession of substances suspected to be narcotic drugs at Nkurakan in the Eastern Region.
The operation, conducted on 17th June 2025, led to the interception of a Sprinter Benz bus with registration number AS 1933-21, driven by the suspect.
A search of the vehicle revealed five (5) sacks of maize within which were concealed seventy-eight (78) oval-shaped, sellotaped balls of plant material suspected to be Indian hemp.
The suspect is currently in Police custody assisting investigations and will be put before court.
Some Ghanaians have reacted by saying, It’ll be a hard job/tough to get all the bad & criminal stuff out our communities which@nppghanahq left behind”.
“Free The Herb 🌿. The HERB OF WISDOM is not a narcotic. It’s medicinal. Eliminate that slavish mentality & legalize the herb. U give license to drive cars & use guns which kill so many pple. Ganja never kill no one. Just give us a learner’s license to start. Lealize IT 🌿”, another stated.
