The headmaster of Big Six International School in Meduma has shockingly locked some BECE candidates up over unpaid fees.

According to reports, two BECE candidates were reportedly denied the opportunity to write the first paper, Mathematics, after being allegedly locked in a room by their headmaster.

The two were expected to write their exams at the Simms High School in Fawoade, the approved centre for candidates in the Kwabre East Municipality of the Ashanti Region.

Reports suggest the headmaster of the private school confined the two leading to them missing their first paper of the nationwide examination.

Meanwhile, 603,328 candidates across the country are set to sit the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

The exams are scheduled from Wednesday, June 11, to Wednesday, June 18, 2025.

The 297,250 males and 306,078 females are the first batch of students seeking to benefit from the Free Senior High School (FSHS) Policy under the new government.
