Joseph Osei Owusu, a former Bekwai MP will chair a nine-member committee to plan the July 2025 national delegates conference.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate for the 2024 general elections Dr Mahamudu Bawumia had earlier revealed that the NPP plans to elect its 2028 presidential candidate lastest by January next year.

According to Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP elected its 2024 presidential candidate in November which gave John Mahama an advantage as he was already the NDC presidential candidate and had already been touring the country.

Dr Bawumia asserted that the NPP did not have time for reconciliation after their internal elections as there was a lot of fallout from many constituencies.

Meanwhile, the family of the National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Stephen Ayensu Ntim has asked for a temporary exit from party activities for Stephen Ntim.

According to the family, the request is due to health reasons and the urgent need for medical care and rest.

On June 16, 2025, the family of Stephen Ayensu Ntim issued a statement raising concerns over Mr. Ntim’s current condition.
