The minority in parliament has petitioned the Ghana Medical and Dental Council (GMDC) and the US medical councils about the qualification of self-styled medical practitioner Anne Sansa Daly.
Dr Nana Ayew Afriye, the Ranking Member on the Health Committee of Parliament quizzed the two councils to verify whether Dr Sansa Daly, who claimed to be a Johns Hopkins-trained medical doctor, was affiliated with them.
The Minority, in their petition, demanded, “1. If Dr Anne Sansa Daly is currently registered and licensed by the GMDC to practise medicine in Ghana?
- If Dr Anne Sansa Daly has ever been registered with the GMDC in any capacity (e.g., temporary or permanent registration)?
- If it is within the GMDC’s regulations for an individual not registered with the Council to present themselves publicly as a medical doctor or offer medical advice on public platforms within Ghana”.
The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in the USA has revealed they cannot locate a record under the name Anne Sansa Daly.
This comes after a concerned citizen, a pharmacist identified as Reginald Sekyi-Brown, wrote to the Office of the Registrar of the school on May 25, 2025.
In response to the letter, the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine stated, “Hello, We are unable to locate a record under this name,” a response from Johns Hopkins read.
The minority in parliament has also issued a one-week ultimatum to GHOne TV regarding Dr Anne Sansa Daly’s medical television programme ‘Health and Life with Dr. Daly’, which aired on the network.
Anne Sansa Daly’s appointment as a board member of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) was revoked by President John Mahama with immediate effect.
According to reports, Anne Sansa Daly’s appointment revocation follows the brouhaha surrounding her appointment after reports her medical credentials are fake.
