Solomon Owusu, a leading member of the Movement for Change has fired shots at Ghanaian lawyers telling former finance minister Ken Ofori-Atta not to return to Ghana.

According to Solomon Owusu, those lawyers are nation wreckers

Kofi Bentil, the Senior Vice President of IMANI-Africa shockingly stated he will not ask former finance Ken Ofori-Atta to come to Ghana.

According to Kofi Bentil, if he were to advise Ken Ofori-Atta that would be his advice to him.

He asserted that he has strong reservations about the handling of the case.

Speaking on JoyNews’ Newsfile programme on Saturday, June 7, Kofi Bentil stated, “If I had the right to advise Ken, I would tell him, don’t come to Ghana. Let them try you in absentia and do whatever they will do, and we will take it from there”.

Speaking on TV3 on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, Solomon Owusu stated, “NPA and GRA already had a system, DMX was already there, nobody will convince you that we needed any entity called SML to create loot and share, that is why Ken Ofori-Atta is out of this country.

All those lawyers that are sitting down running their mouths Ken Ofori-Atta should not come, you are part of the nation’s wreckers, they must be told in the face. People go and steal bananas, steal sheep they are in Nsawam, people fo and take our billions and you come and tell us that he shouldn’t come. They are all part of the scheme”, he added.

Solomon Owusu further told the Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebent to put a $5 million bounty on former finance minister Ken Ofori-Atta.

According to Solomon Owusu, the OSP placing a bounty on Ken Ofori-Atta will prove his seriousness.

An infuriated Solomon Owusu added, “I have told the Special Prosecutor that the earlier he puts a bounty on the head of Ken Ofori-Atta, the better. Otherwise, I won’t take him seriously. If he likes, he should put $5 million on Ken Ofori-Atta’s head, and I’ll be on the next flight from the United States to find him.

The amount of money he and his accomplices have taken from this country is outrageous. BECE is starting and 600,000 of our youths. My daughter is writing the BECE, and her future depends on how this cabal, led by Ken Ofori-Atta, has recklessly mismanaged the country’s finances.”

His comments come after The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) detained three Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Limited (SML) company directors in a raid on Monday, June 10.

According to reports, Investigators are said to be particularly interested in accessing electronic data stored on the company’s servers.

Manasseh Azure Awuni an award-winning investigative journalist revealed that the Office of the Special Prosecutor raided the offices of Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Limited (SML).

It will be recalled the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) accused the former finance minister Ken Ofori Atta of causing financial loss to the state in several dealings including the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA’s) – Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Ltd (SML).

SML was formed a month after the NPP administration took office in 2017.

It has since been awarded a number of dubious contracts by the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) and the Ministry of Finance, under Ken Ofori-Atta.

The “SML Scandal”, an exposé by The Fourth Estate, titled, ‘The GH¢ 3 Billion Lie’, fingered the Ministry of Finance for awarding a $100 million contract to SML to monitor Upstream Petroleum Production and to Audit the value chain of Minerals and Metals Resources.
