Manasseh Azure Awuni an award-winning investigative journalist has waded in on the former finance minister’s Ken Ofori-Atta brouhaha with the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP).
The investigative journalist noted that it is almost impossible to feel sorry for Ken Ofori-Atta because of what he knows.
According to Manasseh Azure Awuni, he considers himself a very compassionate person, but cannot feel sorry for Ken Ofori-Atta.
In a post on X, Manasseh Azure wrote, “I consider myself a very compassionate person, but, from what I know, it’s almost impossible to feel sorry for Ken Ofori-Atta”.
His comments come on the back of Prof. Mrs Angela Ofori-Atta, the wife of former Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta has stated her husband will return to Ghana when he gets the doctor’s approval to return.
According to Prof. Mrs Angela Ofori-Atta, Ghana is home to Ofori Atta.
The wife of Ken Ofori-Atta is quoted to have said, “Ghana is home and when he [Ken Ofori-Atta] is able to and the doctors give approval, he will come to Ghana”.
Mrs Angela Ofori-Atta in a statement revealed that Ken Ofori Atta had a successful surgery for prostate cancer at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
On Monday, June 16 a statement issued by Prof. Mrs. Angela Ofori-Atta revealed a robotic-assisted radical prostatectomy took place on Friday, June 13, and lasted over four hours.
She stated, “The doctors are pleased with how the procedure went and will now place him on a postoperative regime”.
“Kenneth has always been resilient. But this has been very difficult; with the OSP choosing the period just before his surgery to declare a red alert on him,” she noted.
She added, “Our family is truly grateful for the support and prayers of many people and pastors”.
The family of former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta has revealed he will return to Ghana after surgery on June 13, 2025.
According to the family, Ken Ofori-Atta will return after surgery to face the Office of the Special Prosecutor.
On Monday, June 9, in a statement released by the family, they condemned the issuance of an INTERPOL Red Notice and declared the OSP’s actions as violations of due process, constitutional rights, and international law.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Attorney General, Justice Srem-Sai has revealed that the former finance minister Ken Ofori-Atta will be arrested upon his arrival in Ghana.
According to Justice Sream-Sai, Ken Ofori-Atta will be formally charged upon his return and the legal process will then proceed with possible bail considerations and trial.
