Socrate Sarfo, a filmmaker, has boldly stated he is jealous of his colleagues in the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
According to Socrate Sarfo, the NDC government has shown enough respect for creatives and not just scholarly individuals.
He asserted that when the NPP was in power, they never respected those in the creatives.
Speaking on Accra-based OKAY FM, Socrate Sarfo stated, “I get jealous of my colleagues in the NDC. Their people have shown that they acknowledge their depth as creatives and are making good use of it.
Our people, on the other hand, will look at you in a very condescending manner, thinking they are better than you. We had the creatives who could do excellent jobs, but they were overlooked just because they claimed they didn’t have degrees,” he stated.
John Mahama and the NDC, after assuming office, have appointed some creative arts industry players as part of their quest to reset the country.
Avbla Dzifa Gomashie, John Dumelo, Rex Omar, Kofi Okyere-Darko, Abeiku Santana, James Gardiner, and now Kalsoume Sinare have all been given juicy appointments.
Meanwhile, some Ghanaians have reacted to the video saying, “When I was a little boy I used to see in movies this man’s name always as the story writer, producer and stuffs now politics has made him a low ordinary man with no respect, I saw him follow Gifty Oware at the airport the other time and I remembered what A-Plus said about his”.
Another added, “The Ghanaian is born naturally bad. Socrates sat on TV and radio and defended the then government even when he knew things were that bad. Now he is saying what? Because he wants some favour?”
“When bulldog told him the truth, he got angry, yet today he speaks it”, one more stated.
