Dr Bryan Acheampong, a member of Parliament for Abetifi and former Minister for Food and Agriculture has boldly stated his political intentions of leading the NPP.
According to Bryan Acheampong, he wants power and not to test the waters.
He detailed that his years of dedication and experience to the party have prepared him to lead the party into a new era.
Dr Acheampong further recounted his journey within the NPP, from grassroots mobilisation to serving as a Member of Parliament and Cabinet Minister.
Speaking at the NPP’s Constituency Chairmen Caucus Conference on Saturday, June 21 stated, “I’m not here to test the waters. I’m here for power”.
His declaration drew loud applause from the auditorium.
“I have walked the path, I have served, and I have built. I am ready to take this party to victory in 2028,” he added.
The NPP primaries are heating up with the main front runners for the NPP’s flagbearer position Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, former Assin Central MP Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, former Minister for Agriculture Bryan Acheampong, and former Minister for Education Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum.
In a related story, Andy Appiah-Kubi, the former Asante Akim North MP has stated the former Agriculture Minister and current Abetifi MP, Dr. Bryan Acheampong as the NPP flagbearer kills two birds with one stone.
According to Andy Appiah-Kubi, Dr Bryan Acheampong is the ideal candidate to lead the NPP as he possesses intellectual prowess and is also a successful business mogul.
He emphasised that Bryan Acheampong is a great candidate who can redeem the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The former lawmaker stressed the NPP’s need to present a strong candidate capable of revitalizing the NPP and winning the 2028 elections.
Speaking to journalists Appiah-Kubi stated, “Our task is to present a great candidate who can redeem our party, NPP, and Dr. Bryan Acheampong is preparing himself for that mission”.
The former lawmaker further underlined Bryan Acheampong’s intelligence and business knowledge as key characteristics that position him as the perfect choice for leadership.
“If we are looking for a candidate with intellectual prowess, Bryan is the one. If we want a successful business mogul, he’s that too. So with him, we’re killing two birds with one stone,” he remarked.
