Benjamin Gyewu-Appiah, a member of the Communications Team of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has stated the NDC must provide the former CEO of the Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC), Sedinam Christine Attionu Tamaklo for the NPP to also provide Ken Ofori Atta.

The High Court in April 2024, issued an arrest warrant for convicted former CEO of MASLOC, Sedina Christine Attionu Tamakloe.

The former MASLOC CEO was tried in absentia after she absconded after being granted court permission to travel abroad for a medical check-up.

According to Benjamin Gyewu-Appiah, Ken Ofori-Atta, will not avail himself to the OSP if Sedina Attionu Tamakloe remains at large.

Speaking on Atinka TV, Benjamin Gyewu-Appiah stated, “Currently, we have hidden Ken Ofori-Atta in a room. If the NDC brings Sedina Tamakloe, then we will exchange them. If the NDC will not provide Sedina to face the law, then we are also not providing Ken Ofori-Atta.

The NDC is not smarter than everyone in this country. Tell the Special Prosecutor that I said he should order for sense, and I will pay. The country is just wasting money on him—he hasn’t even won a single case in court,” he added.

His comment comes on the back of the OSP rejecting Ken Ofori-Atta’s request for a virtual session.

According to Kissi Agyebeng, Ken Ofori-Atta must present himself physically to the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP).

The Special Prosecutor further revealed that he has triggered a process for the issuance of an INTERPOL red notice, potentially subjecting Ken Ofori-Atta, to international arrest and extradition.

Meanwhile, Ernest Owusu-Bempah, the Deputy Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party has also told the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Dr Dominic Ayine to bring back Sedinam Tamakloe Attionu, a former CEO of the Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC).

According to Ernest Owusu-Bempah, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) must bring back Sedinam Tamakloe to serve her 10-year jail term otherwise no New Patriotic Party (NPP) member will be prosecuted.
