Frank Anane Dekpey an errand assistant of Adu-Boahene and his Associates has told the court he usually goes to the bank with a big Ghana MUST Go bag for the money,
According to the errand boy, he was mostly directed to a specific bank staff who cashed the cheques and revealed that he usually delivered the money to Adu-Boahene in his office in Labone.
The errand boy Frank Anane Dekpey revealed that Mildred Boateng an associate of Adu Boahene often sent me to deposit or withdraw money at UMB or Stanbic.
He further told the court he does not recall ever sending the monies he withdrew to Angela Adjei-Boateng the wife of Adu Boahene.
Kwabena Adu Boahene, his wife Angela Adjei-Boateng and one other have been charged by the state for stealing, defrauding by false pretences, money laundering, and conspiracy to commit a crime.
According to the charge sheet Kwabena Adu Boahene, his wife stole state funds to the tune of GHc 49 million.
The Attorney General, Dr Dominic Ayine, filed 11 charges against Kwabena Adu-Boahene and three others at the High Court in Accra.
The Office of the Attorney General has filed witness statements in the case against Adu-Boahene and his co-accused – his wife, Angela Adjei-Boateng; their associate, Mildred Boateng and a company jointly owned by Adu-Boahene and his wife, Advantage Solutions Limited.
The Attorney General submitted three witness statements by Frank Marshall Crowell, the case investigator; the Director of Finance at the National Signals Bureau, Edith Ruby Adumuah and Frank Anane Dekpey, an errand boy for the accused persons.
Meanwhile, the former National Signals Bureau boss some weeks ago through his legal team dropped a shocking breakdown of the ¢49million he has been accused of stealing.
He alleged that GHC5.1 million of the GHC 49 million he is alleged to have stolen was used to buy 3 vehicles for President John Mahama.
According to his letter, he claimed 5,135,000 cedis was used to buy a 2024 Nissan Patrol Platinum, 2024 Nissan Patrol Titanium and 2022 Land Cruiser GXR.
Additionally, Kwabena Adu-Boahene claimed that GH¢960,000 of the GHC 49 million of alleged stolen funds were used to pay members of Parliament.
He further added that the GH¢960,000 was used to pay members of Parliament’s Defence and Interior Committee to accelerate the passage of the National Signals Bureau Act (2020).
The embattled former Director of the National Signals Bureau (NSB) has fingered an opposition political party for receiving GHS 8.3 million of alleged money he is accused of stealing.
