According to Frank Davies, the former minister is currently undergoing treatment in the United States.

Frank Davies is quoted by GHOne TV to have stated, “I get quite irritated and worried over claims Ken Ofori-Atta is evading justice. Do we control issues of our personal health?”.

Ken Ofori-Atta lawyer further quizzed why it is so difficult for people to understand his client is sick.

Speaking on Joy FM’s Super Morning Show on Monday, June 2, Frank Davies stated, “If I tell you that I will come and see you tomorrow, and just on the brink of tonight, I suffer a casualty, would you see me tomorrow? Why should it be so difficult for people to understand that the person involved has a health challenge?

This was known long before these charges were prepared against him; who didn’t know that Ken was not well?” Mr Davies queried.

He further revealed that the OSP was notified of the former minister’s inability to appear for interrogation due to medical reasons.

“A letter was sent to him (OSP) on the 27th May, but the OSP has not acknowledged receipt of the letter, but the letter was sent to his office,” he disclosed.

Meanwhile, Ken Ofori-Atta has dodged the  Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) once again after he was expected to show up to their office today June 2.

According to the legal team of Ken Ofori Arra, he is unable to show up in person due to health complications.

Reports suggest the legal team has formally communicated the development to the OSP and the Human Rights Court and has also submitted medical reports detailing his current condition and planned surgical procedures.

However, the information gathered suggests that Ofori-Atta has offered to participate in the OSP’s investigation virtually.

The Office of the Special Prosecutor is yet to inform Ghanaians of the latest development.

It will be recalled the OSP accused him of causing financial loss to the state in several dealings including the construction of the famous National Cathedral and Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA’s) – Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Ltd (SML), the loss reduction contract between ECG and Beijing Jao and Health Ministry to Service Ghana Auto Limited/Ambulances.

The OSP during a press conference stated, “The fugitive’s name is Kenneth Nana Yaw Ofori Atta. Mr Ofori-Atta is 66 years old. He was the minister of Finance of the republic between 2017 and 2024. Mr Ofori-Atta left the jurisdiction on or around 2 January 2025.

On 24th January 2025, the OSP communicated to Mr Ofori-Atta that the OSP considered him a suspect with respect to four of the cases above. Mr Ofori-Atta was asked to attend in person on Monday 10th February 2025 at 10GMT for an interview…Mr Ofori-Atta instructed his lawyers to inform the OSP that he was out of the jurisdiction indefinitely on medical grounds…”

The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) had earlier revealed that Ken Ofori-Atta is expected to report to the OSP headquarters on 2nd June 2025.

The OSP official account on X reacting to a netizen comment on the whereabouts of the former finance minister wrote, “Ken Ofori-Atta is expected to report at the headquarters of OSP on 2 June 2025. Thank you”.

The OSP warned Ken Ofori Atta will re-enter the OSP’s list of wanted persons if he fails to show up on June 2.
