The Ghana Police Service has arrested a suspect in connection with a burglary and theft incident that occurred at Kasoa Nyanyano in the Central Region.
The suspect, identified as Ibrahim Abubakar Sadiq.
According to reports, Ibrahim Abubakar Sadiq was apprehended at his hideout in Agbogbloshie, a suburb of Accra.
His arrest follows a review of CCTV footage from the scene.
He was reportedly wearing the same outfit captured in the footage during the operation.
Preliminary investigations indicate that Sadiq allegedly stole an iPhone 14 Pro Max valued at GHC9,000, a Barclays ATM card, a UK driver’s license, and £2,000 in cash.
During interrogation, the suspect Ibrahim Abubakar Sadiq admitted to the offence.
He revealed that he had sold the stolen iPhone to an unknown buyer in Agbogbloshie for GHC2,000.
The suspect is currently in the Ghana Police Service custody assisting with investigations and is expected to be arraigned before court in due course.
