According to Kennedy Agyapong, Ghana needs more doers, not dreamers in suits giving speeches.

He further asserted that Dr Bawumia has rich ideas but nothing to show for it.

In a post on X, Kennedy Agyapong stated, “In this world, some have rich ideas and nothing to show for it. Others turn ideas into results and wealth. Ghana needs more doers, not dreamers in suits giving speeches”.

His comments come on the heels of Dr Bawumia stating he may not be rich, but he has rich ideas.

The former vice president tackled Kennedy Agyapong over his recent claims that he could raise $7 million with one phone call.

Kennedy Agyapong, who contested the party’s 2023 flagbearer race and remains a strong contender, pledged to raise up to $7 million to support grassroots organisations if the party agrees to restructure from the bottom up.

Speaking to some NPP constituency chairmen in Kumasi on Saturday, Kennedy Agyapong stated, “I don’t care if I personally lack funds. With one phone call, I can secure $7 million to help organise the party from the bottom up and make sure we do things properly”.

Dr Bawumia, speaking in a meeting with over 200 former MMDCEs, says poor people can also be the President of Ghana.

His remarks come just days after Kennedy Agyapong told party constituency chairmen, he could raise $7 million with a single phone call to organise the party’s internal elections.

Dr Bawumia is quoted by JOY NEWS to have stated, “ I may not be rich, but I have rich ideas. Poor people can also be presidents of Ghana”.

Meanwhile, a recent analysis by Africa Policy Lens has unveiled significant insights regarding the preferences of supporters within the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) and their views on potential flagbearers for the next general elections in 2028.

The report indicates that former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia remains the frontrunner among NPP supporters for the party’s presidential candidacy in 2028.
