Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Minister in Charge of Government Communication has shut down rumours claiming self-styled medical practitioner Anne Sansa Daly was the personal physician to John Mahama.
According to Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Anne Sansa Daly has never come anywhere close to John Mahama.
A post on social media that has gone viral with Anne Sansa Daly thanking President-elect of Ghana John Dramani Mahama for his victory in the December polls and also revealing how she served as a personal physician to him during his time in opposition has since sparked public concern.
Anne Sansa Daly in her post on December 10, 2024, wrote, “Congratulations to President-elect of Ghana John Dramani Mahama on this well deserved victory. Its been a great honour serving you as a personal physician especially during the difficult times in opposition and throughout the very tough campaign. You did it”.
Speaking in an interview with Oyerepa TV on June 1, 2025, Felix Kwayke Ofosu stated, “
“It is not true. I have known President Mahama’s physician, who has worked with him for several years. He is a prominent, highly qualified medical doctor. This lady [Sansa Daly] has never been close to the president before, and her claims are not true. I can tell you on authority that she has never been the president’s physician. Some people have flagged the post as fake”.
“The lady did not even attend the inauguration because, at that time, her nomination had been withdrawn. The documents showed that her she wasn’t even having her appointment, and that goes to prove that the government took action even before the issue came out,” he continued.
He added, “As a government, we are ready to listen and act if people draw our attention to issues happening, we may not be aware of. It is a better way to serve people than to not act when you are being alerted on issues going wrong”.
His comments come on the back of Anne Sansa Daly’s appointment as a board member of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) being revoked by President John Mahama with immediate effect.
According to reports, Anne Sansa Daly’s appointment revocation follows the brouhaha surrounding her appointment after reports her medical credentials are fake.
The Minister of Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, in a letter dated May 23, 2025, and signed by the Secretary to the President, Callistus Mahama revealed the revocation.
Meanwhile, the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in the USA has revealed they cannot locate a record under the name Anne Sansa Daly.
This comes after a concerned citizen, a pharmacist identified as Reginald Sekyi-Brown, wrote to the Office of the Registrar of the school on May 25, 2025.
In response to the letter, the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine stated, “Hello, We are unable to locate a record under this name,” a response from Johns Hopkins read.
