The Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG) serves notice of a nationwide strike if agreed conditions of service are not implemented by June 30th.
CLOGSAG have given the government until June 30 to meet their demands or face nationwide strike action.
On Thursday June 12, in a letter addressed to the sector minister, they revealed that their members are mounting pressure on the leadership.
CLOGSAG’s letter read, “The pressure on the Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG) to get the unique salary structure and other conditions of service for the staff of the Civil Service and the Local Government Service implemented continues to mount on the Association. An Emergency National Executive Council meeting was held on Thursday, 12th June, 2025
National Executive Council (NEC) having noted various correspondence including our letters numbers AC1/4/SF,1/VOL.3 dated 20th December 2024 and AC1/4/SF.1/V01.3 dated 6th May 2025 on the implementation of the new salary structure- and other conditions of service for CLOGSAG members and various Memorandum Of Understandings (MOUs) on the same subject, decided as follows:
- that the Minister for Labour, Jobs and Employment should see to the effective implementation of the new Salary Structure and other conditions of service for CLOGSAG members.
- that within two weeks that is, from (Monday, 16th June 2025 up to 30th June 2025) CLOGSAG expects a positive response from the government.
- failure to initiate implementation, the Association would have no other option than to embark on a nationwide strike”.
