Dr Stephen Amoah, the member of parliament for Nhyiaeso and a lead campaigner for Kennedy Agyapong has shockingly caused a stir over his recent comment.

According to Stephen Amoah, whether we like it or not, Christians hardly want to vote for a Muslim leader.

The member of parliament subtly aimed a dig at the former vice president and 2024 presidential candidate of the NPP Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

Speaking at an engagement with the students in Kumsai, Stephen Amoah stated, “Whether we like it or not, Christians hardly want to vote for a Muslim leader. It is a fact.”

“We all know—why are we lying to ourselves?” he asked.

“Acknowledge yourself and your problem but we can find solutions to them, rather than saying [they don’t exist],” he concluded.

Kennedy Agyapong the former Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central some weeks ago also shockingly asserted that the Churches spoke but the New Patriotic Party (NPP) did not listen.

The former lawmaker noted that the Churches spoke in their vote pattern suggesting Ghanaians were not ready for a non-Christian leader.

Kennedy Agyapong emphasised that if the NPP want power they should listen to Ghanaians as they only want to vote for him.

Speaking in a viral video from a party event, Kennedy Agyapong stated, “If they want power, Ghanaians say it is only Kennedy Agyapong they will vote for.”

“Do you want to remain home for another 4 years or 8 years? Are you ready for that? Let us listen to what the people are saying. Let us listen to what Ghanaians are saying”, he said.

Kennedy Agyapong further exclaimed, “The churches spoke. In this church we are in, they spoke. I am speaking in parables. The church spoke but we did not listen and we have seen what has happened”, he emphasised.

The NPP primaries are heating up with the main front runners for the NPP’s flagbearer position Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, former Assin Central MP Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, former Minister for Agriculture Bryan Acheampong, and former Minister for Education Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum.
