A member of former Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta’s legal team Frank Davies has called the Office of the Special Prosecutor a bluff.
Frank Davies has dared the OSP to go ahead and carry out its INTERPOL red notice and extradition process for Ken Ofori-Atta.
Speaking on JOYNEWS, Frank Davies stated, “Well, he has declared him – re-declared him – a wanted person and fugitive from justice. I have listened to all that he said. He has triggered processes to ensure his forced return into the country. He has also caused a red notice alert on him.
“He has always been in the process of triggering extradition or commencing extradition proceedings to ensure a return of Ken Ofori-Atta into the jurisdiction. That is what he has opted to do. So, he should start and carry it out,” he said.
He added“But I will just say this to the Office of the Special Prosecutor, that he should stick to his core duties as a Special Prosecutor and as a trained lawyer. I don’t know when he became a medical practitioner to be giving interpretations and all that he said. He’s a legal practitioner. He should stick to his core duties and stop getting himself into areas where he has very little knowledge”.
“I want to believe that he clearly understands what he is doing. Because you are at the Office of the Special Prosecutor, you can come into the public domain and disclose, as he has said, that there is no medical report. How did he conclude that Ken Ofori-Atta was suffering from cancer?” Mr Davies questioned.
Frank Davies asserted, “I am not about to involve myself in frugality. If he says he is going to bring Ken into the country because he [is] fleeing from justice and has since declared him a fugitive of justice, we will all be waiting for him to bring Ken Ofori-Atta into the country.”
Meanwhile, the OSP has since revealed that he has triggered a process for the issuance of an INTERPOL red notice, potentially subjecting Ken Ofori-Atta, to international arrest and extradition.
