Kwame Baffoe, commonly known as Abronye DC, the Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has been referred to the NPP’s disciplinary committee for breaching the party directive to refrain from making unguarded public comments.
The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Frimpong Kodua, issued a final warning to Abronye DC and Ernest Owusu-Bempah over acts of indiscipline.
Justin Kodua stated, “The National Council has received petitions against Chairman Abronye and Ernest Owusu Bempah. There were discussions on that, and the First Vice Chairperson has directed that the matter be dealt with thoroughly.
Extensive deliberations with the two will be held by Chairman Buttey, and he will issue a final warning. In the event of any future misconduct, appropriate action will be taken.
“There will be a final warning to Abronye and Owusu Bempah over their indiscipline. Moving forward, the party will not tolerate such behaviour, even from leaders. Sanctions will be applied where necessary. If you hold a position in the party, your utterances carry weight (sic). So, you must be careful about the things you say in public,” he cautioned.
However, Abronye DC called out the double standards within the NPP’s leadership.
According to Abronye DC, the NPP leadership talked about unity but could not call Kennedy Agyapong to order.
Speaking on Ohia TV, Abronye stated, “They talk about unity, but they can’t even call such people to order. How is that unity?
“We see the smear campaigns on social media. Bawumia’s name has been linked to a rice importation scandal. Everyone in the party is aware of what’s going on. Yet, the very people promoting this division are the ones calling for calm,” he alleged.
Abronye further fumed, “Suspend who? I’m only speaking about things I know, and nothing will change my position”.
