The Bolgatanga Central MP Isaac Adongo has cooked at the NPP Minority in Parliament for what he describes as a dramatic U-turn.
According to Isaac Adongo, Chairman Wontumi and the Ghanaians expected the NPP minority to be sleeping at EOCO with their Chairman.
He asserted that Chairman Wontumi would be very sad that the minority are in parliament talking and arguing about more holidays.
Speaking on the floor of parliament Isaac Adongo stated, “I think Wontumi will be very very sad that you are here talking, he was expecting you to sleep at EOCO with him, you abandoned him to sleep there and today you promised the people of Ghana that you have abandoned this chamber but you are here making a lot of arguments demands.
You people should tell Wontumi his people are deceiving him, and he is sleeping there alone and they are here arguing for more holidays. We were surprised when they were sitting on the ground there when we went there at 7 they had disappeared.”
His comment comes after the minority parliament yesterday walked out of parliament over Chairman Wontumi’s bail conditions.
The minority in parliament walked out of Parliament and vowed to boycott all proceedings until EOCO modifies Chairman Wontumi’s bail conditions and releases him.
They later staged a sit-in outside the headquarters of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) in Accra on Thursday, May 29 demanding the release of Chairman Wontumi, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
In parliament today May 30, 2025, Members of the Minority Caucus have been captured on the floor of the House, following their announced boycott of sittings and subsequent walkout abandoning their protest at EOCO over Chairman Wontumi’s detention to return to parliamentary business.
