A video has surfaced of Kennedy Agyapong the former New Patriotic Party flagbearer hopeful and former Member of Parliament for Assin Central arresting a truck driver after he allegedly hit and killed a motorcyclist after attempting to flee.

According to reports, Kennedy Agyapong chased and caught the hit-and-run driver who killed a motorcyclist in cold blood and attempted to escape.

Reports suggest the former Lawmaker and his team were returning from Cape Coast when they came across the accident scene with a motorcyclist run over by a truck and left lying on the road dead, with his motorbike burning.

Kennedy Agyapong was heard questioning the driver of the truck with registration number AS 9475-19 in a video saying, “Why did you have to run away? If you have committed a mistake, why then do you run away?”

The suspected driver was arrested together with his mate and claimed that he was never aware that he had caused an accident.

Other drivers at the scene also claimed the truck driver caused the accident by engaging in wrongful overtaking.

The truck driver was later escorted to the Police Station by Kennedy Agyapong.

Some Ghanaians have reacted to the video saying, @GhPoliceService please try and let this person be on remind with hard labor  for 20 years before serve the main sentence that should be 60years”.

“It is an unfortunate and sad situation, but truth be told, most of these bikers drive recklessly without adhering to traffic rules and laws”, another wrote.

One more user stated, “This is what we, as Okada riders, endure simply because we want to earn a living honestly. In this country, some people, because they drive cars, do not value us motorcyclists who deliver goods or services to them. Some even value their pets more than human beings”.
